I have ordered an item for my son for Christmas from the PC world website which was due to be delivered this Thursday. I received a text message in the morning to say it would be delivered between 12- 1pm to my place of work. This time came and went with no delivery. I logged onto their website and it stated that the item was out for delivery between 12 and 6pm.
This time slot also came and went and my status said that the item was back at the depot.
I contacted DPD the following day and the man I spoke to said he would look into it for me. On returning my call I was informed that the parcel could be with "a number of couriers" and they would have to check to see if they could find the parcel. Apparently the day before the parcel had been with the wrong courier!
I received a further phone call that evening to say that none of the couriers claimed to have the parcel and so DPD would have to check the vans at the depot when they returned. I was advised to contact PC World to tell them the parcel was potentially missing.
I spent around 15 minutes on the phone before getting through to someone at PC World who told me they would contact DPD to raise an investigation.
The item that I ordered is extremely hard to get hold of - IPAD mini - and so I asked what would happen should the parcel not be found. I was told that it would be replaced, but, because there is very low stock, it would be sent out when stock is available. This could possibly be after Christmas!!
I am now in limbo waiting to hear what has happened. I don't know whether to risk waiting for the parcel to be "found" or try to hunt down ANOTHER IPad mini and have to pay for it again!
I cannot understand how this can possibly happen and it all sounds extremely suspect. Not a happy customer whatsoever and I would be very wary of ordering from any company that use DPD as their courier.
