I recently arranged for Hermes to collect and deliver a mirror bought on ebay. They turned up for collection a day late without informing either the seller or myself. My mirror didn't appear, so I emailed them and got a response four days later informing me it was in their depot, but no update as to when I might expect it. Having chased them again two weeks after the collection, they eventually told me it had been smashed in transit and they would have to destroy it for health and safety reasons. They are refusing to refund either the cost of the mirror or the cost of the delivery because they say they shouldn't carry mirrors, despite the fact that I bought extra insurance and provided a full description of the item when I arranged the collection and delivery and was not informed of this. Their delivery and customer service has been appalling from start to finish - AVOID! It seems cheaper but is really not worth the saving.
