Misuse of personal data

For many years I had been a fairly regular Screwfix customer and I should imagine that I have spent at least a couple of thousand pounds in that time. More recently, a friend pointed out to me that sometimes the 'specials' are a bit of a gimmick and actually not that special.........anyway, following a broken promise to honour a 'special' price of an item that wasn't in stock (although the online system said it was) I decided to close my account and go elsewhere. Coming from a law enforcement (fraud) background, I am only too aware of the risks involved with these types of companies retaining personal and private information and so requested and was assured (in writing) that my personal and private information had been deleted and that I was no longer on their mailing lists..............yesterday I received in the post, the new Screwfix catelogue which means that they lied to me about having deleted my personal information........not good, not good at all!!
