On the face of it a very cheap courier delivery company BUT there are downsides!!
Their business model is built on a franchised courier delivery - the couriers get paid per parcel delivery & you would think that makes them keen to collect & deliver first time BUT they do not always collect & as they are keen to deliver first time this does mean parcels are left in inappropriate places and redeliver not always attempted.
My Hermes have updated their website & IT IS RUBBISH, the old style was much easier to navigate. Now we cannot see parcel tracking we have to phone & that is eventually after drilling down their site to find a phone number THEN THEY CHARGE YOU 10p A MINUTE & keep you holding on a queuing system. So you use what you have saved on te parcel rate handing on the phone & then get an operator who seems intent on keeping you on the phone as long as possible without giving you a simple answer.
EBAY SELLERS BEWARE even when MyHermes give you a parcel tracking number on the phone the tracking does not show any customer or address details so the tracking could be for anywhere & IT IS NOT SUFFICIENT PROOF OF DELIVERY for Ebay - they need to link the tracking to a buyers name & address!!
MyHermes Customer Service is poor, they do not reply to emails in their published timeframe & try making a claim for non-delivery, they send you the wrong claim form & never send you the correct one.
Saying that the vast majority of the parcels get delivered, it is just when there is a problem they are appalling at dealing with it.
If you are going to use MyHermes pay with a credit card or preferrably Paypal you then have some redress if MyHermes do not provide the service they have contracted to!!
I have been waiting over a month for their sales people to talk to me about an account and their returns service - they tell me they are too busy to talk to me and someone will call when not so busy - cavalier attitude to customers!!
As of today until they sort their IT system and tracking out, and their customer service WE HAVE STOPPED USING THEM!!

Freestart plc


This sounded great on the face of it simple porting of our Ebay Store onto Facebook, the reality entirely different. Difficult to understand and use the software, and customer support service non-existent. We were sold a PUP by a slick talking cold calling tele-sales person, and told we could cancel at any time BUT they have just taken £178.80 off our company credit card without our permission. As I type I am on the phone to my bank disputing the payment and this is after phoning Freestart to complain and I have just had the phone call from Lynn or Linda who talked over me and said they'd sent me a renewal in the post, which I had not received and she told me they got special treatment from Royal Mail and all undelivered mail was guaranteed returned to them - WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH. First I knew of anything was the invoice received 3 days after they had raided our credit card, with T&Cs on the reverse again the first we had seen of them.
We never got an invoice for the first transaction, and never saw any T&C's.
I did not give them verbal or written permission to retain credit card details or to permit a perpetual payment to be taken, and to cap it all Freestart did not contact us to advise on renewal timescale and ask permission to take a payment - this breaks all sorts of financial regulations. SOFTWARE DOES NOT DO WHAT IS SAYS ON THE TIN, COMPANY BEHIND IT ARE SCAM ARTISTS - DO NOT TOUCH THEM. I would urge anyone who has been targetted and scammed by them to petition someone like Tony Hetherington at the Mail On Sunday and get this company and their unscrupulous activities exposed.
AS AT 05 MARCH 2013 I AM STILL DISPUTING THE SECOND YEAR CHARGES FROM THIS COMPANY - my bank has a letter from them hiding behind verbal telephone agreements for perpetual payments (ask them for a copy of the tape recording of the conversation they legally have to keep) and copies of terms & conidtions they say they posted (never received) and a 14 day advance warning of 2nd year payment (again no email or letter received). PLEASE PLEASE EVERYONE WITH A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY GET ONTO TRADING STANDARDS, CITIZENS ADVICE AND TONY HETHERINGTON AT THE MAIL IN SUNDAY - this company needs to be made to behave in a more transparent and ethical manner
