I had just purchased a car and wanted to have it checked over for my own peace of mind as salesmen will tell you anything when selling a car! So I booked it into my local Halfords for the free safety check; which included tyres, suspension, brakes, gear box, battery check, everything I wanted to be sure was fine. I booked online and chose the 10am slot as I had to be at work for 11:30am and thought an hour or so would be plenty for the checks required, however......I arrived at 09:45 and they were closed; fair enough they didn't open until 10am so I didn't mind waiting.... however when 10am came and went I started to get a little annoyed. The young lad finally arrived at 10:15am by this time there were a few of us waiting. I had been there first but ended up at the back of the queue *how did that happen*? No apology to waiting customers for being late.
When the lad finally got to me I gave my name he filled in the paper work stating free safety check and said it would be about a 3 hour wait!! I said "you're joking aren't you?", he replied, "no I'm not". I couldn't believe the cheek of the guy. I explained that I had been first to arrive and that I'd booked online over a week before and chose the 10am slot and that I wanted mine looking at now.
He checked the system and saw this was correct so handed the mechanic my keys and told him to look at mine first.
He then said it would be about an hour. When I got the car back I was told I needed a new track rod end as it was worn to excess and also a rear suspension arm bush was perished. I was quoted over £300 in total. I told them I would get back to them and left! So much for my peace of mind.
I actually work above a garage and I told them what Halfords had said, so the mechanic got my car up on the ramp and checked it. He called me in and showed me....that the track rod end was practically brand new and the suspension arms and bushes were absolutely fine. So the moral of the story is nothing is ever free, Halfrauds might advertise these checks as free but they will always find something expensive wrong, and if there isn't anything wrong they will just make it up. They pray on the fact that we aren't mechanics and that we can't check for ourselves. We have to take what they say as gospel. I finally got my peace of mind but it was from a local independent garage. I WILL NEVER USE HALFRAUDS EVER AGAIN AND I'D ADVISE OTHERS TO AVOID THEM ALSO.

My local cineworld bolden colliery does the bargain tuesday so the tickets work out at £4 odd each for an adult. I love the fact that the website doesn't charge any booking fees, and you can print your own tickets at the cinema; oh and you can pick your own seats too at no extra cost! I can't moan about food prices as all cinemas are expensive where that is concerned so i always take my own in. The staff are always polite and helpful. The toilets are always clean. The seats are comfortable and the cinema itself is excellent. I was never a big cinema fan until i found out about the bargain prices on a Tuesday so myself and my husband go at least twice a month now. Thank you
I have been with giff gaff now for about 2 years and love them. Sometimes there network goes down but so does everyones. They keep you informed with whats going on and work hard to rectify the problem. There goodybags are excellent value and the fact that giff gaff to giff gaff is free is amazing and 0808,0800 number etc. With giff gaff around i dont understand why people still have contract phone where they run up 100's of pounds worth of bills. There website is straight forward and easy to use, with loads of information and even a user customer forum where you can ask questions and get information. The goodybags are a month by month plan so no long tied in contracts or leaving fees; and you get rewarded for recommending other people. Amazing, well done giff gaff. Thank you
I have been with blockbuster online rental for about 4 years. The price is good and the different options are too. I have the 4 a month package with two allowed at any one time. I always receive something from my list although its not necessarily the one at the top. If you have a faulty disc or a disc lost in the post they are good and rectifying the problem. Because I use blockbuster rental service I also looked at the market place they do. I purchased some great blu rays at excellent prices. Although sometimes the buy button can be pressed even though the item is not in stock. Which is dissappointing, but an instant refund is done and an email is sent. So still minor work to be done but the best there is out there for line rental. thank you
I ordered two rolls of the Laura Ashley cottonwood wallpaper. The rolls arrived within 3 days of purchased. They were the same batch number, well packaged and as described. If i signed up to the news letter then i got an extra 10% off so i did that. It took over 30 mins for the voucher code to be emailed which was a little bit of a pain but patience is a virtue as they say. However the 10% discount came in handy as at checkout I was then charged £4.50 postage cost. I'm so used to ordering things with free postage these days. But the 10% discount and the postage fee cancelled each other out so it wasn't too bad. I would recommend LA. thank you
I ordered a 110cm combined vanity/sink unit from these guys. Their price was much more competative than anyone elses I had seen. I called there phone number to check a few details before placing the order. They answered straight away and answered all of my questions. I placed the order, the item was dispatched the same day and arrived two days later. The item was exactly as described and very good quality. This company was used by a shop I had bought a shower door from. They contacted me to arrange a delivery day, were polite, helpful and offered excellent customer service. They were able to deliver the item the next day which was a Saturday!! no extra cost required, and no fuss at all. The guy who delivered the item was brilliant. He phoned to say he was on his way and arrived exactly on time. He unloaded the item and helped to carry it into the house. I would recommend this company to anyone, and if you are having your goods delivered by them from an internet purchase; then you can feel safe in the knowledge that your item will arrive on time and intact. I have now been using this company for over 12 months. They have supplied me with miles worth of skirting and architraving. I opted for the oak coloured pvc style which are brilliant. They are so easy to clean and look realistic. I would definitely recommend it if you want something that will look fantastic and low maintenence. As for the company Cliff is who i deal with he is extremely helpful; he gets the order sorted straight away and the items arrive within 2 days. He will then follow up the delivery by checking all is well. Truly brilliant customer service. thank you.
fantastic company. They sell leather good and bags etc. I ordered mine through ebay but they also sell on amazon and play. I ordered a purse and a bag they arrived well within the allocated time. Have had infinity option 2 and phone for 14 months. We had no choice to come to BT as they were the only ones who offered fast broadband in the area we moved to. They set it up ok and all was fine, or so we thought. We had a buzz on the line and whenever we spoke to people on the landline they said they couldn't hear us properly. We contacted Bt who arranged an engineer to come out. Once the engineer arrived he explained that if the fault was down to us then there would be £100 charge but if the fault was on the line then it would be repaired for free. Can you guess what the conclusion was? Thats right the fault was down to us! to say i was gobsmacked is an understantement. How can it be down to us? the engineers installed everything. We had moved into the house 3 days previously. ARGH!! no amount of calls helped so we were charge the £100. This had signed their fate as we decided as soon as we were out of contract we would switch. Luckily we only had a 12 months contract. A week or so after the contract ended we applied to move to plusnet as they were now offereing fibre broadband in our area. We got a mac code and started the transfer. Then the trouble began. I have since found that BT are still charging me for braodband even though they are no longer supplying it. Theresa Morgan the customer service rep who called me said they would continue charging me for the braodband until plusnet sent confirmation of the internet now working with them! Plusnet said they dont send confirmation and that the initial request is all Bt needs. Theresa Morgan even used the tags checker which is the system they use to see who is supplying broadband to a specific address and she admitted it was plusnet but was still adament we would be charged! I was fuming. I tried to get back in touch with her to no avail, i opened a new complaint, 3 days later im still waiting for a reply. I put my problem on twitter, where funnily enough i got a reply within a couple of hours, saying we will look into your problem. They haven't done anything. I called and spoke to 4 other people and none of them could/would help. They offered to cancel the broadband service for a charge of £30. I explained i had used a mac code to transfer so there shouldn't be a charge.....and round and round we go. I'd had enough so i contacted ofcom who were brilliant. They informed me that BT were in the wrong and that they couldn't continue to charge me if they weren't providing the service. I have now cancelled my direct debit and they can waste their time trying to prove i owe them the money instead of me chasing them to prove i dont. Please dont go with BT there are plenty of alternatives out there. Save yourselves!

The website was easy to use and very informative. I ordered my handles, latches and hinges easily. They took a week to arrive but i was informed every step of the way of what was happening. When the items arrived they were very well packaged and everything i had ordered was present and correct.

We went with yale alarm because we had our new composite front door done with them and were so impressed we just had to let them do something else for us. Within 2 hours of placing the order for the alarm the fitter called to confirm a fitting date (now thats what i call service). We chose the following Wednesday as it was convenient for us, although he could have fitted sooner. The night before fitting the fitter contacted us to reconfirm and on the fitting day he arrived on time, with everything he needed. He was very professional and just got on with the job. We had the free survey which was very useful as he went around the whole house and pointed out any weak spots. Once the alarm was fitted he explained how to use the alarm and how to set it etc. We went for the wireless alarm with key fob etc which is brilliant. We now have a house that is safe and secure thanks to yale alarm and yale doors. Hmm I wonder if they do windows? I can not recommend this company enough.
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL SERVICE FROM THE FIRST CLICK TO THE LAST GOODBYE! WE CUSTOMISED THE DOOR ON THE WEBSITE WHICH COULDN'T HAVE BEEN EASIER. WE PAID THE DEPOSIT AND WITHIN HOURS THE SURVEYOR WAS ON THE PHONE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. THE SURVEYOR CALLED BEFORE ARRIVING AND WAS VERY POLITE AND THOUROUGH. HE ANSWERED ALL OF OUR QUESTIONS AND MADE US FEEL VERY CONFIDENT IN OUR CHOICE OF COMPANY. THE DAY AFTER THE SURVEY WAS COMPLETED WE RECIVED A CALL TO ARRNAGE OUR FITTING DAY; AMAZING!. THE NIGHT BEFORE THE FITTING DAY THE FITTER CALLED TO CONFIRM, AND ON THE DAY THEY CALLED BEFORE ARRIVING. THE FITTERS WERE VERY GOOD AND JUST GOT ON WITH THE JOB NO STALLING OR BREAKS EVERY 5 MINUTES. THE JOB TOOK 5 HOURS TO COMPLETE AND WHEN FINISHED WE WERE LEFT WITH A MASTERPIECE. I NEVER THOUGHT A DOOR COULD BE BEAUTIFUL, BUT IT REALLY IS. NO GAPS, OR DRAUGHTS NO CORNERS CUT. JUST AMAZING. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND YALE DOORS. WE ARE SO IMPRESSED WE HAVE DECIDED TO GO WITH YALE FOR OUR ALARM SYSTEM TOO. WE ONLY PLACED THE ORDER TWO HOURS AGO AND THE FITTER HAS ALREADY CALLED AND BOOKED IN FOR NEXT WEEK FANTASTIC WE LOVE YALE ITS A PITY THEY DONT DO ANYMORE PRODUCTS!
update; i was contacted on the 18th of December by yale door to tell me i was the winnder of their ipad competition. I dodn't even realise they had a competition going. It was so unexpected and so lovely. The ipad2 has now arrived and i love it...almost as much as my new front door :)
