Good, but needs more control over reference

TransferWise provides an excellent and long-needed service, with just a few niggles to distract from it. The main one is that they don't let you actually enter whatever you like in the payment reference field - whatever you enter will have some autotext appended to it. When making a payment to an automated system, the reference needs to be EXACTLY what you enter, and nothing more! A simple "I know what I'm doing" checkbox would solve this perfectly.

Additionally, the time taken from when you make your deposit into their account and when the payment is actually processed seems to take a while, particularly when it's done over a weekend. This implies that there's a human involved, rather than a fully-automated system, which is a pity. If the stars are smiling, your transfer will be at its destination within 24 hours, but it can take 5 days, if you hit the timing wrong.

Please note that with all of your future payments, we can modify the reference field if you simply get in touch with our customer support team, and let us know exactly what do you prefer as a reference.
In regards to deposit reaching our account, that process is partially automated with certain human oversight. Since banks do not operate over the weekend, it takes slightly longer until your deposit reaches our account depending on the day the payment was set up.
