The six doors (Shaker + glazed oak veneer types) were well presented, clean and nicely boxed although one had a bulge in the centre panel and corresponding slight split in the veneer, not enough to reject the door but a distinct blemish. The veneers were nicely selected and matched. The courier [to Somerset] in particular was agreeable and efficient.
It was useful to use ‘chat’ to clarify certain points though the chat sequences had a habit of ending prematurely (busy office?!)
The oak was finished to a high standard. I didn't like the ugly power nails used to tack the beadings for the temporary glazed Pilkington glass (of my selection), these were most awkward to grip and remove cleanly.
The lippings on the long edges of the 30” Shaker were quite thin, thinner than described, at about 5mm (exposed end grain at top) rather than the advertised 12mm. This was a problem because the intended legacy frames were out of true. Hence we had a little exposed core in one or two spots. I had somehow got the impression the core was wood solids rather, it seemed more like a chipboard/fibrous mass. Could be an issue if any dampness gets in. On the plus side, these were 40mm doors which I needed, not readily available elsewhere.
