IWOOT.COM - The Hut group strikes again! Shocking customer service.

About 5 or 6 years ago I had big problems with IWOOT.com and swore I'd never use them again. Well, I was desperate for something they were selling so thought I'd give them another try. What I didn't realise is that they are now part of The Hut group, a group that I've had problems with before!
Customer care is very very poor.
I placed an order for a birthday present on a Monday morning and paid the extra for next day delivery. Everything was in stock and my order was well before the 2pm cut-off. Tracking emails were sent by IWOOT saying that my parcel had been dispatched, but the next day I looked at the tracking, and DPD (the courier) said that they were yet to receive the parcel from IWOOT, so I wasn't going to receive it 'next day' after all.
Now...if a company offers free next day delivery, I don't mind if things take an extra day or two, but when I pay for it, I expect the company to deliver ON TIME!!
Here's the biggest problem with The Hut group. You cannot call anyone - there are no telephone numbers. You can only send a message via their own portal and hope that someone gets to see it. I sent a message yesterday querying when I was likely to receive my parcel and NO RESPONSE as usual.
Dear IWOOT.COM Get yourselves some decent customer service training (or replace your customer services manager). Try this for starters:
"Promise what you can, and deliver what you promise"
Never again.

Fantastic shoes, great price and faultless service

I was looking for ages for a pair of tan loafers and couldn't find what I wanted anywhere - until I stumbled across Coogan Shoes. They have a great selection of mens leather shoes, most of which are only £35 including free next day delivery.
I was initially unsure what the quality would be like at this price, but I can't fault the shoes. They're perfect and very smart. The fit is good (and true to size). It's great that they offer a 10 1/2 size (EU 45) which is rare these days.
There's a large selection online, including smart, casual and fashion. What is also great is having different colours of the same design! How many times I've found the right type of shoe but the wrong colour!! If you're looking a decent pair of (british designed) smart casual shoes, then try Coogan of London. You won't be disappointed and I'll definitely be using them again.

TheHut

Good but room for some improvement.

This was the first order I've placed with The Hut. Initially, things looked promising. The ordering process was simple and delivery was within the promised timescale with full tracking updates. I cannot fault this aspect of the service.
My order was mixed - shoes, clothes and a DVD. All arrived well packaged, albeit without any packing note/receipt. The DVD & shoes were fine but the polo shirts I'd chosen were a disappointment and of a poor fit/quality. "Not a problem" I thought "I'll just return them for a refund".
Okay, here's the problem: The Hut's returns process. If you need to return an item, you are advised to contact customer services for an authorisation number. I read the online instructions for contacting them: there is no telephone helpline, you can only send them a message via their own portal, BUT, whenever I clicked on the 'create new message' button, I kept getting an error message saying 'You have no orders to make an enquiry about'! There is an alternative button for placing a 'query' against an existing order, but when you choose 'Refunds' from the drop-down list, you just end up being redirected to a page showing their refunds policy. This was quite frustrating. The only other option was to send an email to the only other contact email address (customer.relations@thehut.com), which I did, although a more timely response would have been appreciated.
The other thing I'm a little annoyed about is the promotion on a 3pack of polo shirts. The offer read "SAVE AN EXTRA whatever%, ENTER CODE...". This effectively made the shirts more than half price. Now, alarm bells should have started ringing; I do a lot of online shopping, and in all honesty, if these shirts had been 'honestly labelled' at the low price I actually paid, I doubt I would have bought them for fear of them being of a quality indicative of that price, but I thought it was a genuine promotion and I was getting a good deal saving 58% or whatever it was. Remember the old adage "if looks too good to be true..." etc. Enough said. I think you'll be okay with any other products offered by The Hut, but for clothing you may wish to apply a little more caution before ordering (pay attention to product reviews).
I'd recommend that before you order anything from any website (especially clothes), check the returns policy and check to see if there's an easy way to contact the company in the event of a problem. TheHut.com is almost there, but I feel they could learn a thing or two from some of their competitors, particularly those who take steps to make the returns process as painless as possible for their customers.
After seeing my initial Trust Pilot review, The Hut's customer service team were quick to respond and took positive steps to make things better. That, in itself, is a rarity and I commend them for doing so.

Company has ceased trading

Today I noticed that websites are down and One Click Ventures Ltd company registered office was changed 2 days ago to [what was] their accountant's office.
I spoke to the accountants today for the current status. The directors have advised the accountants to tell customers that the company has "ceased trading and should contact their credit card companies for refunds". Apparently, the company ceased trading on 7th Dec.

One Click Ventures Ltd - avoid like the plague!

Terrible company. I realised a few days ago that I was probably unlikely to receive my order so I asked them to cancel. I have tried to contact them numerous times by email and phone and had ZERO response. They have my money, I have NO PRODUCT!
I wish I had read the reviews here first. WARNING: Avoid any of the One Click websites like the plague (OneClickPharmacy, Tools, Toys, Secrets etc.). I believe its either a scam, or they've gone out of business. Take a look at the product reviews - they are written in poor english with grammatical errors and therefore questionable. I am allowing them the 30 day performance period (under the 'Consumer Protection' (Distance Selling) Regs 2000), after which I will make a formal written request for a refund, followed by a complaint to Cambridgeshire Trading Standards, the ASA, and if appropriate, ActionFraud. I suggest everyone else who has suffered difficulties with One Click Ventures Ltd does the same.
