Excellent but with a niggling doubt about Metacam.

Vet-medic offers a fantastic service, with precription vet medication at a fraction of the price the vet would charge. Very prompt delivery, and never had a problem. In fact, it's the only product (Metacam), that over the years, has dropped in price!
My only (concern?) is that the price is so cheap! A few years ago there was bad press regarding companies selling a copy product at low cost, that wasn't the genuine article. Now there is media attention given to human presription medication, that isn't genuine and to beware of buying any medication online. So there is a little worry for me that this Metacam isn't the genuine article. The dog that I give Metacam to is over 12 years old and arthritic and been on Metacam for a few years. However, I do wonder if he is still lame because the Metacam isn't genuine, or is it because he would be lame anyway? I am afraid to stop giving it to him in case he gets worse and I do not want to make him any more uncomfortable than he is. I wish there was some way to check if this is the genuine article as I have asked Vet-Medic in the past, but they would, of course, not admit it if it wasn't!
That apart, Vet-Medic gives a great service that I would recommend to friends.

Thanks for the review.Everybody is concerned about receiving genuine medication.There are simple things you can do to make sure you are receiving the right product.Is there a named pharmacist in charge? Are they registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council? Are they part of a larger organisation?Can you speak to someone over the phone? DO they use an independent review company such as Trust Pilot which publishes all good and bad reviews? Is the company also backed up by bricks and mortar?Ask where do they obtain their supplies from? Is it from one of the national wholesalers? Yes the Metacam we supply is genuine and you can also check direct with the manufacturer if they know of the company? What we do ,is pass the rebate we receive from the manufacturer onto the customer-many vets don't-I wander where that extra rebate goes? Rob McDonald Superintendent Pharmacist Vet-medic
