I bought a mattress called "Relyon Firm Support Mattress" which from the online description I believed to be a normal sized mattress which was firm and had excellent orthopedic support. I have carefully checked the website and it is technically 'as described' yet is actually just a large block of memory foam, not particularly firm and with no additional orthopedic properties other than being memory foam. Although it does the job, I would not say it is as good value as a similar sprung mattress and I would say it is only worth around 3/4 of the price. I have not contacted the company with my disappointment, as I am sure they would happily exchange the unused mattress - I just don't want the hassle of returning it etc and not having a mattress while I waited. I would, however point out that in their online terms and conditions, they state that a mattress cannot be returned after removing from its packaging for hygiene reasons; it is impossible to check the quality and suitability for purpose from within the packaging and so the T&Cs could be technically be invalid with reference to the Sale of Goods act.
I am not normally a reviewer... but... I bought 4 winter tyres from MyTyres in October and have been so disappointed I wanted to let others know.
The tyres were out of stock (fair enough) and so would be delivered a week later to the fitting centre. MyTyres.com sent an email saying they were on their way and to book an appointment with the 'approved fitting centre.' I did this and thought it was odd that the fitting centre said they didn't normally deal with on-line orders and had heard nothing from MyTyres.com but would be happy to fit them for me on the date requested.
The day of my fitting, I turned up to the fitting centre to be told no tyres had arrived. I couldn't call the number provided from my mobile (landline only foreign call centre) so I did when I got home. The customer service said that two tyres had indeed been delivered to the correct place and another two returned to the couriers distribution centre. They apologised and said they would cancel the order and ensure I had four tyres with the fitting centre asap. I asked them to confirm when the four tyres had definitely turned up and would they check with the fitting centre they had them.
A week later I received the same email asking me to book fitting. When I contacted the fitting centre, they had received only two tyres but would book me in for the end of the week as tyres often come in two deliveries.Customer service never tried to contact me. At the end of the week, still only two tyres had arrived so I re-contacted customer service. They insisted that four tyres had been delivered (and had a signature from somebody, but not anyone at the fitting centre) again they apologised and said they would investigate. At this point it was nearly a month after buying the tyres, so I asked them to cancel the whole order and I would get them locally (for £20 more) instead. They acknowledged this and apologised again.
Two days later, I received a confirmation of cancellation email, but no refund to my PayPal account. I emailed Customer service - no response. So I emailed the customer service on the website - no response. Eventually I raised a PAyPal dispute, who tried to contact MyTyres.com through their chain - no response. 14 days later I received a refund for the full amount from PayPal and I have since only had one email from MyTyres.com - A Christmas newsletter thanking me for my loyalty throughout the year!
I hope potential customers read this and understand the possible implications of going cut price. I also hope the MyTyres.com management read this and try to solve the systematic errors occurring. My review and many more poor reviews can't all be wrong!
