Let down by increasingly poor delivery service

I've been shopping regularly at Amazon UK since 1998. But I've seen the delivery service getting worse & worse. Back in 98 you'd get books delivered the very next day for free. Nowadays free delivery takes longer. That would have been fine as you can't expect free stuff / service forever.

But the problem is now the packages don't always turn up. Especially if they use Yodel as the courier. Yodel never seem to be able to find my address even though other couriers - even normal Parcel Force / Royal Mail - have no problem delivering to me.

And when I contact Amazon customer service to request packages to be sent by another courier, I'm told the CS agents aren't allowed to override the choice that's automatically assigned by their computer system. I ended up wasting lots of days chasing after packages and have to proactively contact everyone to try to get additional delivery instruction / help to the courier..

So I'm boycotting Amazon until they either drop Yodel as a courier or change their system so their customer service agent can override the computer system to send via alternative couriers if the customer have problem with particular courier - like Yodel.


Boycutting Amazon for using Yodel

Not the first bad experience with Yodel. This time thanks to the tracking visible on Amazon & Yodel websites, I can see the lies they tell. Yeap, driver claimed card left for missed delivery, then delivery refused on second attempt of package 1 and first attempt of package 2. Both now on their way back to Amazon.

WHAT? The buzzer didn't even sound once and I've been waiting by the door both days since I saw Amazon status changed to out for delivery. Other couriers have no problem. I got a bath deliver today - so buzzer is obviously working fine. And there was definitely no missed delivery card left. I checked several times.

It is shocking that companies like Amazon still use Yodel. I contacted their customer service and they say they'll contact Yodel and get them to redeliver. Like that's going to get delivered properly if the first two "attempts" were unsuccessful. So I'm boycotting Amazon until they stop listing Yodel as one of their couriers.
