I did have reservations about trying this diet, however I "weighed" up the pros and cons and decided to give it a try.
My hamper arrived and I was impressed at how the food had been packaged. The food pouches were protected with card board to the side and over the top as well as being inside a cardboard box. The pouches were not squashed together & and it was obvious that care had been taken to package the hamper up.
I checked the contents to ensure everything had arrived as ordered. There were 140 items i.e. 35 each of breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack. I found that one item had been delivered incorrectly, I received a Thai chicken curry instead of a hotpot. I had cause to ring diet chef over an unrelated matter & happened to mention about the mistake. To my surprise a few days later I received another parcel with a portion of Hotpot in.
The food is plentiful and is very tasty. Normally diet food can be very bland. I have tried the majority of the food that I have ordered & out of 80 meals tried so far there has only been one that I did not like. I have thoroughly enjoyed the other meals.
The web site is easy to navigate and you can easily adjust meal choices for you next hamper through the month, so if you have something that you don't like you can go onto the site and make another choice for your next hamper. The variety of the food is great, absolutely no chance of becoming bored with the diet. In fact the food is that tasty that I have found it difficult in deciding what not to have in my next hamper.
The best thing about the diet is that there is no meal preparation time, all you do is tear the top of the pouch and heat it up in the micro wave 2 - 3 minutes later you are sitting down eating your very tasty meal.
Also there is less washing up to do as you don't have to use lots of pans or cutting boards etc in preparation.
Diet chef send you about 800 calories a day which leaves you scope for adding a bread roll at lunch, rice or pasta & vegetables for your dinner & milk for beverages.
As this is a calorie controlled diet you are not denied any foods, all you need do is adjust your food intake accordingly or do exercise to use the additional calories consumed.
The only thing that you need to buy extra is fresh vegetables & fruit.
The initial cost of the hamper seems a lot, however it has saved me a lot from wasted food that I have bought and not eaten before it has gone off. Also it saves me time from going to the supermarket and shopping and being tempted from buying high calorific junk foods that look tasty.
I live alone and like this hamper as I am eating decent tasty food that has been prepared by somebody else. Also I know exactly what I am eating on a daily basis and I look forward to each meal.
Even when I have lost my weight I am contemplating on staying with diet chef as the food is lovely. It does not have to be kept in a fridge or freezer and the diet is so easy to follow. I am eating a healthy meal instead of crisps and junk food because I can't be bothered to cook.
Thank you diet chef, I would definitely recommend this diet to anybody.
