John Lewis

Excellent delivery service.

Fab service! I ordered a divan base from John Lewis and chose a delivery slot. On delivery day I was called and asked if it was convenient for them to come within 5 minutes. A two man team came, both took off their shoes and carried the divan base upstairs for me, assembled it and took away the packaging.

Well built divan base and fantastic, polite delivery men. Worth every penny.

Avoid like the plague

I ordered a divan base through the bedroom world part of world stores for my son and took a day off work to wait in. When it was delivered my husband was already home and had to help the delivery man get it in the house. When we got it upstairs there were no assembly instructions and one of the holes for the wheels was blocked so my husband had to make it larger. The front of both drawers was loose.

Customer services agreed to replace it so I booked another day off work, I got an email asking me to repackage the broken bed, and after calling customer services was told to just tape bin bags around it (so now I've used two days leave and loads of bin bags).

When the driver arrived he asked me to help him get the new bed into the house and out of its box so that we could then lift the old bed into the box - despite me being a petite 5 foot with a shoulder injury. Again the bed was faulty. I was willing to take the bed to the local dump myself (instead of wasting a day waiting for it to be collected) but world stores insisted it had to be collected, when I asked if they'd be paying my hourly rate for the three days work Id missed they agreed I could just leave it in the front garden to be collected with no requirements to tape bags to it this time!

I agreed a collection date with them and have just got home to find the bed still there. Whenever I try to call them I either hold for 10 minutes before giving up or get a recorded message that they are all busy! This is a terrible company, for £30 more John Lewis have delivered a well built divan, took it upstairs, assembled it and tidied up. Avoid world stores like the plague.

PS. They have good feefo reviews on their website but strangely they don't seem to have passed my details to feefo!

Update: Nobody came to get the bed yesterday. I spoke to someone earlier today and after working out how much holding for an hour yesterday had cost me I asked for a manager to call me back within 1/2 hour - surprise surprise no call back! I just want a my money refunded.
