I bought a domain name from 123 reg for a 1 year period but made the mistake of paying by credit card. During the course of the year I received an email from them advising that my card details had expired and that to automatically renew I would have to supply them with new card details. I did not do this as I had decided not to use the domain name. Imagine my surprise when they used the expired card details to auto renew. I attempted to log into my account with them to cancel the order/auto renew process but was met by a blocking message which stated that due to an admin update I could not modify the details. I went to their online advisor by the name of "Dorin", a person or computer? I do not know, but they were particularly unhelpful and insisted that it was an automated process that could not be cancelled and that they were entitled to payment, they also refused to remove my card details from their records. Fortunately once my Credit Card provider had become aware of the exact circumstances they reversed the transaction. I know that I had a lucky escape and I should have done a simple internet search before ordering from them because many others seem to have had this sort of problem with 123 reg
