We paid an extra £12 (yes, £12!) postage and packaging for a supposedly 'guaranteed' evening delivery of a product from Currys, who chose this courier for us - then we sat waiting for the entire three hour time slot only for nothing to turn up at all. We decided to track the package to see what had happened, and according to the updates, after an hour the driver decided they couldn't be bothered & went back to the depot stating that there was "insufficient time" to deliver - which is absolutely ridiculous considering that the depot is about a 30-40 minute drive from our house and we were barely a third of the way through our time slot!
What also confused us was the fact that, according to the tracker, our parcel had been in a delivery van from 11am that morning (why, when I'd asked for an evening slot?) - yet they still failed to get it to us in the entire 7 hours it was supposedly 'on the road'.
And we're now in a situation where we can't even visit the depot ourselves to pick the product up as we don't have the required 'calling card' to prove it belongs to us - since they never even attempted to deliver the package, we never received such a card - and the ridiculously inflated fee we paid to have our parcel delivered at 'our chosen time' was totally wasted.
We want our £12 back.
UPDATE: Tracked the parcel again - apparently a re-delivery was to be attempted and the estimated time of arrival was 18:24-19:24... however, after checking the tracking page again it seems at about 17:42 the driver took my parcel back to the depot for a SECOND time stating 'insufficient time'. It's now 19:20 and as expected it's another no-show. If we don't get our £12 P&P refunded we will take this further.
