Twice I have tried ordering (to test the service with their £5 voucher) and both times I have been rung back after about 10-15 minutes to say that actually the restaurant wasn't even open.
The first time it took Takeaway.com a good 5 days to replace the voucher (after saying it woud be sent "tomorrow").
The second time, however, I was told that I would be sent a replacement voucher within 10 minutes. After waiting for half an hour, and no sign of any voucher, I emailed them - nothing. After 90 minutes I finally managed to find a phone number to call and spoke to a guy who at last promised again to send it again. About 15 minutes after that - it finally arrived. 2 hours is a long time to wait when you're hungry!
Their customer service manager [Name] is a master of trite inept apologies. She must be a graduate of 3 Telecom with service skills like that. To top it off, when I expressed a little frustration she tried telling me that I would be arrested and spend 6 months in prison!!
My advice is to use the voucher and then go back to JustEat or HungryHouse where they do actually know what they are doing. In fact when you subtract the £2 Takeaway.com add in charges, you are only really saving £3 anyway and is it really worth all the grief?? Personally I will never use them again.
[Name] = fail.
If you want any sense out of these monkeys, best to ring them. They're not too keen on handing out the number but here it is: [Link].
N.B. I do not know why I have not been authorised as a confirmed purchaser. My last order number was: 1LHRH8. Also, many of the positive reviews on this site are fake.
