What Customer Service!!

I made a booking for a ferry crossing, and unfortunately we had to change the date of travel to the day after the original booking. Te date change was at short notice, and the ability to amend a booking of that nature is not permissable under the 'Manage my Booking' link.
So the following morning I telephoned the office, on the two available numbers for hours......and all I kept getting was some american accented message, about no route available.
So I had no option but to send an email to the customer service email address, even though they state that if it is urgent, don't email, but telephone!!
Anyway, I sent the email with my problem, and it was returned immediatley, stating errors in the intended address!! Double checked and sent again. Same result.
In the end, because I needed to change the day of travel to get to my destination, I had no option but to book another single crossing so that I could travel!!
Absolute disgrace. I have used this company several times a year for the past 10 years at least, but that is now the last time, unless they can show some form of customer recompense for their total unavailability.
