I ordered a sofa for a client. We put it in the room and after two weeks it collapsed. This seemed strange but when we inspected it, it looked obvious... Someone had drilled the leg hole in the right position to start and then having botched it up, drilled another next to it and just covered the original in Brown tape. Therefore when it was sat on, the two holes became one large one and it collapsed causing someone to suffer a rather large bump.
After a long negotiation about getting an interim replacement whilst I waited the 12 weeks for a new one, they finally agreed to give me something from the warehouse.
It turned up, supposedly new and the material is badly worn on the arms and there was a metal shard sticking out of one side. Ond of my colleagues moved it and ended up with a scratch drawing blood in her arm.
Reading all the other reviews it seems that their quality check stage is just non existent. At least when you buy an ikea sofa, you can be sure it's made of soft wood, not flimsy chipboard and it won't collapse. I've bought many sofas in my life as an interior designer and I've never ever seen such poor quality products!!!
I also bought some Flynn dining chairs on the same order. I put them together and because the mechanism that holds the legs in place was held with nails only, as you tighten the screw, the legs start to come lose! I had to dismantle them, remove the naols and buy some small screws just to secure the legs!!!
Yes you get what you pay for, but with made.com I really don't think that's true. They're cheap, but the quality is even so cheap that it baffles...
STAY AWAY OR RISK INJURY FROM THEIR SHODDY FURNITURE!
The only saving grace for this company is that their customer service is acceptable and relatively friendly.
However, I'd like to see this company closed down.
