I purchased the Thrustmaster TX Racing Wheel Ferrari 458 Italia Edition for the Xbox One as a birthday present from Kikatek via Amazon UK. The initial service supplied by Kikatek was excellent and the wheel was delivered very quickly.
As instructed, a software update was applied, and the wheel was connected to the Xbox. Half way through the very first lap, the wheel disconnected and smoke appeared through the top right hand side vent. This was accompanied with a strong smell of burning electronic components.
A product return request was made and Kikatek arranged for a courier to collect the defective wheel a couple of days later. Kikatek confirmed receipt of the wheel and advised it was now queued for testing/condition check. The following day I emailed Kikatek for an estimated time that a replacement wheel would be despatched but 2 days later I still have not received a response to this email.
A further email was sent today and Kikatek response was:
Your return item has been tested and a RMA has been logged with the supplier for a replacement unit.
We are currently awaiting a replacement from them. Once we receive this we can then forward onto you.
However, according to their listing on Amazon they have the item in stock and over 100 in stock direct from the Kikatek website. Not impressed!
Replacement wheel arrived today, updated firmware, and briefly tested with Forza 5. All seems good so far. Thank you!
