Ordered a rug off the Internet. The rug was awful, it was 2 shades of green as opposed to one solid block of colour which it should have been so it had to be returned. Trying to get through to Homebase to arranged a return (the paperwork which arrived with the rug stated that the rug could not be taken back to store) I called 4 times, twice I was waiting for 45 minutes and gave up and twice I waited 30 minutes and gave up. I sent an e-mail asking for someone to call me back....heard nothing. Finally got through to someone who then...you guessed it...had to transfer me through to another department so more waiting. Another 50 minute call....bear in mind that all these calls are charged, not a freephone number. Eventually I spoke to a chap who advised it could take 3-10 days to collect the item and then up to another 10 days for the item to be credited to my account. Needless to say I was rather unhappy with this and so asked to speak to a manager. They eventually agreed that I could take the rug back to store, however no offer to compensate me for the phone calls or the £8.95 delivery charge. I would not usually have an issue paying the delivery charge put to pay for poor quality items to be delivered it's disgusting. I will not be using the Homebase website ever again and would advise others to steer clear.


Fantastic service

Having sent my Nokia N95 to O2, who I thought would be a reliable company they sent me an e-mail upon receipt advising they would only give me half of the original £40 they quoted as the phone had water damage...the phone had never been near water ever! So I asked for the phone to be returned, after researching I decided to give Fonebank a chance, they offered me the highest price for my Nokia, Samsung Galaxy S2 and my I-pad. I have to say I was very nervous expecting 'battle' once they received my 3 items. However they were fantastic, the day after I sent my parcel by recorder delivery Fonebank sent an e-mail saying they had received the items, processed them and would pay the full value they quoted. I was still nervous though as I wondered when the money would be transferred to my account....they received my parcel on Friday the 21st December and the money was in my account by Thursday 27th December, this was absolutely fantastic service especially over the Christmas period. I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again, they really were brilliant.
