Why do they lie?

I got a text message saying that an attempted delivery had been made and a card put through. It hadn't because I've been in all day and collected three deliveries for me and two for my neighbour. No card through either. I phoned the driver's mobile number in the text and he said oh I don't deliver to your area so I have to card it and take it back, you'll get it tomorrow. He said this is just what we do, we have to claim we've tried to deliver it. I go on the website and it claims there has been an attempted delivery. This is despite the fact the driver admits he hasn't attempted delivery. That affects the chance of me getting my parcel for the price I have paid. I don't like this so I phone customer service. I speak to a man that likes to huff a lot. He is polite at first and says that he will contact the depot but my parcel isn't due for delivery for another two days so they were doing me a favour. That annoyed me, so I said this is kind of service I should expect and he slammed the phone down!
So, they don't attempt delivery but send it out in a van that isn't in my area, claim they've attempted delivery (when no attempt has been made), waste my time with chasing what the hell has happened and then they are angry that I'm not grateful!
I have to say that I usually have a lovely woman deliver my parcels from Yodel, she is a pleasure to see and has the biggest smile for my daughter but this lying about attempted deliveries means I will avoid companies that use them and will let them know why.

Hi there.

I've taken a look at the scans and it looks like your parcel has now been delivered. Could you confirm if you've received this?

Please could you also send me your details to social.media@yodel.co.uk so I can make sure this has been looked into for you.

Thanks,

Dee

Appalling customer service and very rude staff!

Ordered something and got delivery date given. Then get an email the day it is due to arrive saying, due to a warehouse error, it is not available and I can either order something else or wait an unknown length of time. No refund offered. I then email saying I am unhappy and I want a refund. I get an email back telling me it is my fault for ordering something that was out of stock. Um, it wasn't when I ordered and paid for it! I can't believe a company would be so rude. I won't be using such a terrible company again.

Hello, do you have your order number for the order so I can see who was involved regarding your order. The service is not acceptable that was given and we would like to look into this. I apologise for the inconvenience caused.
