Do NOT trust their ratings.

I gave a 1 star review for a company that spammed me but Trust Pilot insisted on proof of purchase from the company but the order number was not adequate.

1st it is irrelevant if I ordered from the company or not, they are spamming me without giving an unsubscribe option.

2nd details of what I purchased are private, why should I be forced to share that with trust pilot.

It seems that if you are a paying merchant account holder you can insist bad reviews are removed, not exactly an impartial review system. I will never trust a trustpilot rating ever again, they are worthless when negative reviews are deleted.

Hi Darren,

Thanks for your comments.

I'm sorry to hear you are having problems with a company, however I can let you know that at Trustpilot, our guidelines state that users can leave a review if they have placed an order or made a purchase from a company. This is why you have been asked to provide us with proof of purchase.

I know it can be frustrating to have to provide us with documentation after you have written your review, however to ensure the quality of the reviews on Trustpilot, we provide an option to report a review that may not follow our review guidelines or could be written by someone who can't be identified as a real customer. Both companies and consumers are free to report reviews on our site, and the reason why a review has been reported is visible on the company profile page.

I can see you replied to us with an order number, however we do require to see the actual documentation so we can carry out our checks. You can read about what we require in a proof of purchase here:
https://support.trustpilot.com/entries/25755528-What-do-you-look-for-in-a-proof-of-purchase-

If you are able to supply us with this documentation we should be able to reinstate your review.

I hope this helps explain.

Best Regards,
Claire

Lovefilm

Inept, crooks!

I purchased a 6 month subscription gift voucher for Love Film that was supposed to be redeemed 'On or before 31/12/12'. When I attempted to visit the URL instructed on the gift voucher it informed me that the promotion had expired despite being within the time required.

I contacted Love Film and they said they couldn't do anything about it. They have taken my money and refuse to provide the service paid for. This is one company I will NEVER trust again. They are constantly spending money on promoting themselves to try and get new customers and yet when they have one they can't even provide the service that has been paid for.
