Great idea – but sometimes very slow or no payments

What's not to like about Quidco? They negotiate the money that would otherwise go to Google etc and pay it to consumers, at least that's what I gather from talking to them... The only problem I can see with the service may not be theirs, but it does take a very long time to be paid. They seem to have to battle with retailers to honour their end of the deal. And, as I learned to my cost, if a retailer flat out rejects a claim, no matter how unfairly, you've had it. I once spent far more with Festive Lights than I ever intended because I believed I was earning a discount only for them to deny payment. There was apparently nothing Quidco can do. Zavvi rejected payment on a smaller spend for no reason whatsoever. And if you were to spend £1,000 with a 10% cashback but then have to return an item to the value of, say £100, you could get nothing on cashback! I believe it really should be adjusted to give you cashback on the money you did spend. I have come a cropper this way too. So great idea, but flawed.
