Linnworks for us is a good affordable stock software system that could be an outstanding peice of software were it not for a number of characteristics that for our business model, are totally frustrating.
These annoying characteristics are as follows:
1. Picklists show parent items (made up of composites), instead of grouping by the child items contained in the parent items.
For instance:
The following SKU 'IPHONE-CASE+E-HOLDER+CARCHARGER' is a parent item that contains 3 composites. If there are 25 of these parent items in orders it shows up in the picklist like this:
SKU QTY
IPHONE-CASE+E-HOLDER+CARCHARGER 25
This picklist method makes no sense at all. The picklist should show all items in their granular form. like below.
SKU QTY
IPHONE-CASE 25
E-HOLDER 25
CARCHARGER 25
2. The inability to hide 'parent items' from view in the following places:
In the main inventory view. When adding composites to an inventory item (search function brings up the entire inventory) and when adding items to a PO.
We have so many parent items made up from composites that it takes ages to search for an actual physical stock item when completing PO's or adding child items to a parent item.
3. the way Linnworks maps and deals with ebay variation listings. I opened a ticket about this back in august and in December, i finally had the opportunity to speak with a support guy because we were going back and forth with support tickets and nobody was actually listening to what i was saying. We lost thousands of pounds due to variation listings not updating with the correct stock quantities and featured first listings re-listing without half of the variations that it originally had.
