I placed my order on the 14th Dec for two Christmas presents one of which was dispatched on the 15th and turned up on the 22nd. (Which is a bit slow even for Christmas when considering I ordered other items from Firebox.com on the same day and they all arrived within 48hrs).
But mainly my second item had still not been dispatched by the 19th Dec, 5 days after ordering, and on inquiring on the IWOOT website I discovered that its estimated dispatch date was the 25th Dec?!
This was obviously unacceptable so I attempted to cancel my order through the website which failed on both occasions. I then phoned the IWOOT helpline 9 times during the 19th Dec but could not get through - I just got a rerecorded voice again and again saying to 'call back later due to a high volume of calls'.
I then emailed IWOOT direct through the website's Message Centre to ask to cancel my order as a 25th Dec dispatch was not acceptable to me and I got a somewhat flippant response saying:
'The despatch date you were given was just an estimated despatch date and is not true in this case anyway as no-one will be working on Christmas day so this information is false anyway. As the item is due to be sent out imminently there is chance it will arrive in time for Christmas.'
It did not arrive in time for Christmas.
