After having problems in the past with Dreams (forgot to put my delivery on a truck and lost me a day’s pay) and Carpetright (who sold me a bed full of mould and have refused to do anything about it), I knew that I never wanted to use either of those companies again when looking for a new mattress
I was dubious about using mattressonline having never heard of them, but I did a lot of research on the company – reading many reviews and confirming on the silentnight (bed maker) website that they were an approved online retailer (you can check this out yourself by going to their website). After confirming that they were a genuine company I decided to take a punt.
I followed the website’s advice and looked up high-street stores sealing the bed I was interested in (and similar beds) and went and tried it out in the stores (taking note of the much higher price).
The mattress I bought off them (silentnight London 2100) was a great price (£400 less then on silentnight’s own website) and around the same price as other online/discount bed sellers.
Ordering was easy and I got to pick the delivery date as I booked (I went for a Saturday deliver at an extra £17.50). I received a confirmation email within minutes confirming my order and the delivery date.
Whilst waiting on the delivery date – I noticed that mattressonline was keeping customers informed on their website if there phone lines were busy and if deliveries were taking longer (talking a couple of hours here, not days) – in this case it was due to the Christmas period.
The day before my delivery I received another email from mattressonline confirming that my mattress had been dispatched and was on its way.
I received my mattress on the Saturday at 07:50am (well within the 07:30-12pm time slot I was given). The mattress was delivered by a friendly chap, but you will be asked to help carry the mattress (as its only 1 person unless you pay for 2 person delivery) and they don’t carry upstairs.
The mattress was well sealed in 2 clear see-through bags. The 1st was obviously factory sealed and the 2nd had been put on for extra protection during delivery (I also received 2 free pillows which had been secured in the 2nd bag). I was given time to look the mattress over to confirm it was okay (but their website does give instructions on what to do if you aren’t given time).
On unwrapping my mattress it was in perfect condition and had obviously been stored well. I gave it a thorough checking and there isn’t a single thing wrong with it.
I’ve been very happy with my dealings with mattressonline and will be using them in the future for future bed/mattress purchases.
I would recommend them to anyone wanting to buy a bed/mattress, but would advise you to do your research first and make sure that you are sure with what you want as I believe returning a mattress to them is tricky and expensive.
I was impressed by how easy and quick it was to order and fit a home alarm. Ordering online was easy and the website made it clear what was in each package allowing me to figure out what suited my needs.
Fitting was fast and I received a phone within a few hours to arrange a day to suit me.
The fitter arrived comfortably within the time slot given and went through the fitting with me, explaining clearly where he thought it would be best to fit the sensors. I was given the option to choose where I wanted the alarm to be fitted and was again given multiple options.
The fitter was very truthful in advising my what extras I needed (actually informed me which ones I would be wasting money on as not needed - extra sensors), but did have a supply of extras in the van if I wanted any (I bought 2 extra fobs for the alarm).
Installation seemed to take no time at all and was done with no fuss and minimum distruption (just a bit of drilling for the sensors and alarm).
After the alarm was fitted, the fitter walked me through the instructions on how to work all the options (including the phone part) and showed me where in the booklet to find the relevent information for each operation).
I found the whole process to be a very easy experience and have had no problems at all with my alarm. Would recommend.
