Simply Electronics Ltd.

Very disapointed with poor service

Had used Simply electronics before and they had failed to deliver in their stated timeframe by almost 2 weeks, but gave them the benefit of the doubt that maybe I had just been unlucky and placed an order on 12-12-12 for a nikon camera, it stated that they had 7 in stock. I was told that I may have it in time for christmas, and I was ok with that. the stock numbers of the camera went down to 4 then went up to 23, I presumed they had got more in, great I thought. On 24th december my order status changed to read "order pending courier dispatch". about a week later I emailed them as I saw the stock numbers falling, and recieved a message that my order had been given priority to prevent any further delays, unfortunatly the order status remains the same. The camera is now listed as out of stock, and the latest message on 4-1-13 states that they are trying all ways to fulfill my order. I am shocked at the poor service I have recieved. Was planning on purchasing a nikon d800 and some good quality lenses this year but will now be going elsewhere for them. Shame on you Simply Electronics

Just an update
Recieved an email on monday 7-1-13 again apologizing for the delay, but status still reads "order pending courier dispatch" this has been the same status since 24th december, and it is now 11-1-13. bearing in mind that the camera was ordered on 12-12-12, tomorrow it will be a full calender month since I ordered. NOT GOOD

Today is 22-1-13 The camera which I ordered on 12-12-12 arrived in Dublin early this morning and should be delivered tomorrow,(heres hoping). As I said earlier Simply Electronics website stated that they had them in stock when I ordered it. My status changed to read "Order awaiting courier dispatch" on 24-12-12, and several emails were replied to with apologies for the delay and a promise that my order had been upgraded to priority delivery to avoid further delays. The delay itself was not the real problem, it was that no one at Simply Electronics would admit that they had run out of stock and that it would be several weeks before my order could be filled, this left me expecting shipment of my order daily. The service from Simply Electronics was dreadful,and I would no longer recommend them to anyone. I have in the meantime bought a Nikon d600 and nikon 24-70 f2.8 lens elsewhere which I would have purchased from Simply Electronics if they had behaved in a more professional manner.


My Nikon p7100 which was ordered on 12-12-12 arrived this evening, however the cleaning kit I was offered as a sweetener due to the excessive delay did not arrive. Seeing the messages other customers have recieved, they are the same messages I recieved. I will not use simply Electronics again, the service has been absolutly dreadful. CERTAINLY NOT A GOOD SHOPPING EXPERIENCE.
