Having booked a hotel for 3 nights I was happy with my choice until I discovered I had mistakenly booked the last day on the day we were not going to be in town. I emailed Hotel Direct and they gave me the "No ammendments" policy which I accept, but, I asked if they could try. They were initially accommodating but returned with "The hotel will not adjust the booking forward one night". I phoned the hotel and they told me it was up to the booking agent "Hotel Direct" I phoned H.D and got another person on the phone this time, not a good listener, and she told me that it was up to the hotel!!! I phoned the hotel again and reached reception. They adjusted my booking immediately without any fuss or hesitation. In closing, I feel that Hotel direct did not make much of an effort on my behalf although my initial contact gentleman was pleasant enough to talk to.
