We like to use meet and greet parking services when we go away as, with a two year old child, it makes the whole process of taking luggage, pushchair and car seat away with us much easier. We arrived at Heathrow Arrivals and called the number for StressFreeParking as instructed. Within a few minutes, a very friendly representative met us, checked the car over for scratches and dents, confirmed our return flight arrival time and instructed us where to wait when we returned to pick up our car. All good so far.
However, upon return, we called the number again just after we'd collected our luggage and were told to go to the short stay car park and our car would be with us shortly. We did this and, after waiting for 15 minutes, I called the number again making sure that we were in the correct place. We were told to wait by the elevator and 'our car would be with us shortly'. After another 10 minutes, we were called and informed that a mistake had been made. Despite telling us that our car was on its way, it was actually still at the holding car park and was blocked in by several other cars. They asked us to go somewhere warm and they would call us when the car had been freed.
Another 20 minutes passed, and we were finally told our car was on its way. We made our way back to the short stay car park and the car was delivered, an hour and five minutes after I had made the original call.
Overall, we felt that this service was unacceptable. Why the car was blocked in on the day we'd informed StressFreeParking that we were returning was not something they could provide an acceptable answer for. The representative who delivered our car admitted that this was an avoidable mistake, and that he'd had to take eight other drivers with him on a minibus to move the cars that were blocking ours in.
Therefore, we will be using a different company for this service in the future.
