im 57 and it took me two years to decide if i wanted to take a frozen pension or leave it until i was 65,.so decided may as well spend it while i'm still breathing.
my existing pension holder sent me their offer, not a clue if it was good or not, went online and saw advice that i should shop around.
filled in some online pension calculators to get an idea of what to expect then saw a financial advisor who was supposed to get me the best deal, luckily my brother was doing the same thing at said he had gone with age partnership,so contacted them, they asked some questions and gave me an offer, sent some paperwork and said to contact them when i had received an offer from the advisor.
it turned out that age partnership was better than any i had looked at, so i filled in the paperwork, age partnership made arrangements the next day to pick it up with a courier,my proof of identity was returned within a couple of days, again by courier.
everything was easy and quick and was sorted within 3 weeks.
just trying to decide what to spend my lump sum on?
