I have waited in all day today to take delivery from DPD. Usually the local driver arrives around lunch time. So by 3pm today I got a little concerned and rang up the company who have sent the parcel. They wouldn't let me have direct contact with the depot and I hadn't got a consignment number to call directly. After a full 30 mins on the phone I was told "The depot confirmed receipt at 9am this morning but the parcel MIGHT be lost .... but it could still be delivered by 6pm .... the driver MIGHT not have scanned it when he loaded it on to his van this morning ... we can't confirm it as lost until after 6pm. Can YOU ring US tomorrow?" Hmmmm? How is this even possible? I have to wait in for another seperate parcel tomorrow - surprise surprise it has been sent via DPD! I am livid that I have wasted a day today, have to wait in tomorrow (IF this one comes) and if todays parcel has to be reissued I have to wait in all day Thursday too! Ridiculous ... If I were a senior manager at DPD I would want to know every parcel in is delivered and fully accounted for while within the 'care' of DPD. In the current climate I am sure there are plenty of other courier companies that would happily take the work load from you, and manage it to an acceptable standard!
09/01/13 - thanks for the response Bobby. I have emailed the socialmedia address (again!) I have no consignment number,however the 'investigation number' I provided worked fine when I called your depot at 8am this morning. There is a very small window of opportunity for DPD to redeem themselves here ... I am waiting for a second delivery today (unrelated to the first one!) the redemption would be for two parcels to arrive today!! Will I hold my breath? I don't think so!
