Hotel Direct

Simple, straightforward and excellent value.

I was looking for a good value hotel in Dublin and found exactly what I was after via Hotel Direct. I particularly liked the fact that you could search by distance from a particular part of town, so it was possible to rule out hotels that were too far away from where I wanted to be.

Judging by my own experience, the hotel descriptions provided are pretty fair and can be trusted. The one I picked (Cassidys, on O'Connell St) was, if anything, better than described and I was very pleased with the choice. I felt it was excellent value for the quality offered. Guest reviews on the Hotel Direct website suggested that others who had tried the same hotel were similarly pleasantly suprised. This is a great confidence booster in terms of trusting the information on the website.

The email administration of the booking was very straightforward and prompt. As I made the reservation a couple of months in advance, I particularly appreciated receiving a further confirmation email a couple of days before I was due to travel. This reafirmed that the hotel had allocated the room OK. The email even gave the names of the staff at Hotel Direct & the hotel reception who had confirmed the booking. Excellent!

On arrival, checkin was very straightforward. I simply showed reception a printout of the booking comfirmation email & was immediately given my room key.
