I have several domain names register with 123 for clients. 1 client has around 5 domain names and now has his son working for him and would like his son to mnage their web sites and domains. So they set up their own account with 123 with a view for me to transfer. While I was waiting for this info 1 domain name auto-renewed payment via PayPal, I contacted PayPal to cancl payment they did, we still had 6 days to the renewal date. Checking with Nominet the renewal date was still 2013, Now 123 have locked me out my account and are demanding the renewal fee (for a domain I don't want) and an extra £12.50, I was happy to pay the renewal fee not the £12.50 so I asked to speak to a supervisor and was just placed on hold , so I gave up and I found this site so I thought I would try for a resolve on here!
You may ask why I did not turn auto-renewal off , because I wanted to renew the domain once paid by the client.
The problem is with the 123 control panel you have no option to say you will manage this yourself. The options are auto renew or allow this domain to expire, I did not want the name to expire, but the control panel does not allow any other option.
Not happy - but will wait and see
