Nice website. Bad Customer service.

Company seemed great when booking the car for use in the Netherlands. When checking in at the hertz counter everything went splendid. The rep there never informed me that I woul d be paying more in fees than I actually was paying for the rental. At the time of booking I was not made aware of this fact either. I was just to find out a month later when auto Europe charged me 170 for the rental (which is what I thought I was paying total). Then hertz charges me 280.00. Customer service for Auto Europe explained the breakdown of all the fees to me in a rude manner and treated me as if I was unintelligent. This is did not appreciate. I still can't get my head around the fact that I paid more in fees than I did for the rental. I think in the future auto Europe hpshould do a better job of letting the customer know that the rate you see in there website is not at all what you end up paying. This is the reason for the 1 star. I feel auto Europe mis informed / or kept things hidden from me the client.

Customer service is everything to me and the way I was treated on the phone was less than satisfactory. I have had better call center support out of India with an operator who bairly speaks English. I expect more from a US based call center. Also for DeJa and any one else who reads this. When a customer ask for your name and a way to identify you within the company don't lie.

On behalf of Auto Europe, I would like to extend my apologies for the inconvenience experienced with the recent car rental in Europe.

We make every effort to ensure that each client returns home with a pleasant car rental experience and are, therefore, disappointed that you did not receive the quality service that our clients both expect and deserve.

In regards to the vehicle license fee, it is a fee billed by the cities directly in Europe to put the name on the registration of the vehicle.

This fee cannot be included in the pre-paid rate with Auto Europe as we are a US based wholesaler and the fees are coming from the cities in Europe directly. Thus, the only way for to pay this fee back to the city directly, is through the supplier at the location.
