I've bought a few things from People Tree over the last six months (mostly in the sales). The clothes are of very high standard and the deliveries always arrive within 2-3 days, with very minimal packaging. I'd thoroughly recommend them as a reasonably priced, ethical shopping destination!
I've used Royal Mail extensively over the last 20 years and would say, from my experience, that they are the best for both personal standard letters and parcels.
I have recently had extensive problems with myHermes and other providers who have been selected over Royal Mail for cost savings. I really don't think it's worth the move.
In addition, Royal Mail's collection service (for when we're out and the post woman or man hasn't been able to deliver) is brilliant. They even know us by first names in our North East London collection depot. Thoroughly recommended!
An eBay seller received a message this morning re: a package that I ordered on 13 December that was dispatched shortly afterwards. It has still not arrived (11 Jan) and was a Christmas present.
The account shows that a driver attempted to deliver three times but we did not receive a card or any info about this (we work full-time like many people and are out of the house during the day).
The message this morning from myHermes states that it is not possible to deliver to the fourth floor. I am completely baffled. We have a lift (the package is small anyhow) and I left very clear instructions about what to do if the driver could not enter the building (leave a card taped to the main entry door).
Interestingly, someone else in my home has had a problem with myHermes to the same address.
No similar problems with Royal Mail, Parcelforce or Yodel, or with anyone else over the past four years.
I would avoid this service.
