DX

Police called!!

I ordered a passport for my son back in october. (his first passport as we were due to fly in february). I left it until after christmas to contact the passport office as i know things can be busier. I got told the passport was given to the couriers on the 21st December and that i needed to contact DX for further information... thats just what i did. I got told it was delivered on the 24th December. No it wasn't!!
I was informed that no one was in so they posted it through the box and took a picture of the house to prove they have posted it, how in anyones right mind is this proof?? As the picture is actually our house (although the description said no doorbell when there clearly is one) we are not eligible for any compensation for the stolen passport.
I have tried to resolve this with DX and the passport office, however apparently it was delivered and its down to me.
What worries me the most is that my son's passport is out there somewhere being used by probably immigrants and they couldn't care less. I am appalled at the attitude of the staff and the process they follow. I have informed the police of this incident and they will be following this up and hopefully catch the delivery driver who stole my sons passport.
I advice everyone to stay away! and when ordering a passport specify in the notes on the application you want it to be signed for and a picture is not sufficient.
