I sent a few month old iPhone 4S in an "as new" condition to CashMyFone, expecting to be paid the £240 advertised. I used Special Delivery for peace of mind.
I received an email saying that the phone condition didn't match their terms and conditions and they offered me £216 (-10%). I queried this and they responded saying that it wasn't brand new and didn't have the accessories included so they'd now offer me £228! I reminded them that their Ts&Cs did not require either and that my phone exceeded the minimum condition stipulated. I also reminded them that their website's FAQ section confirmed that the accessories did not increase the value of the handset. They then called me and agreed to pay me the £240 saying that the confusion was me saying in my email that the phone was in an "as new" condition made them think I was saying it was brand new. They must think I'm zipped up the back as this would have no bearing on the price as per their Ts&Cs and FAQs.
Having said that, the lady that called was very polite and the matter was concluded very quickly.
I truly hope that their business model is not to negotiate on virtually all phones.
