While considering an equity release, I read an article in 'Which' magazine (Feb 2012) reporting on tests they had carried out on the quality of equity release advice provided by various financial advisers (independent and tied). The 'Which' investigation compared what the advisers 'should say' with what they 'did say', and the results were distinctly patchy. Relating this to my experience of KRS, and of their representative Mr Phil Rea, I have to say that their performance to date as been impressive. The KRS paperwork has been comprehensive, and Mr Rea's approach (on two visits) has been professional but friendly, covering in detail all the points the 'Which' survey considered important. The equity release has still to be finalised, but on present evidence I believe I am in good hands.
