Having bought many electrical items from high street providers like Comet (RIP) and Currys we have bought a whirlpool dishwasher on line previously from a different supplier which only lasted two years and was not very practical.
We had replaced that with a second hand BOSCH dishwasher which was excellent even though it looked tatty, we therefore wanted another BOSCH machine for that purpose, We have recently bought a large larder fridge on-line and had some issues with the provider which were resolved eventually to our satisfaction but could have done without the headaches it caused initially with missed delivery dates, even though we were in and expecting them.
Appliances on-line impressed us with the high quality and quantity of the positive feedback on its very user friendly website. We found the video demonstration really helpful in allowing us to make an informed decision with regard to the capabilities of the two items which we bought which were a BOSCH Dishwasher and an LG 8kg Direct Drive washing machine.
Both were delivered extremely efficiently with plenty of updates to keep you informed of when the delivery was arriving so you would not waste your day.
The delivery team were very helpful and took away much of the packaging, my only criticism is the £10 charge for the taking away of the old machines-Currys do not charge for this service and even give you a trade in of £30 against the dishwasher, however as we wanted both machines to arrive at the same time we went with Appliances on-line. Both my wife and I are really happy with the items and the excellent customer service, thank you for restoring our faith in ordering on-line
The purchase was made, however despite being at home on the due date the delivery man did not knock loudly at 0800 and we did not hear it, we have an outer porch door and despite the claim by the driver that he had rung both provided tel numbers there was no evidence of this when I tried 1471 and no answer-phone messages, By the time I had realised that we had missed the delivery and rang customer services the delivery van was too far away to re-route. Arranged a new delivery date for the following Tuesday, got up bright and early at 0700, no sign of delivery by 0900 rang customer services only to find that they had a new system on the computer and our delivery had not been linked through and therefore had been forgotten. I asked for a despatch delivery but this was refused as it was too costly, offered a full refund but as we really wanted the fridge as ours is very old, and we could not guarantee an order through Currys' due to high demand, we were offered a £30 discount, I asked for £50 as this would match Currys' price, but this was refused and we agreed on £40 on the proviso that they would e-mail a confirmation of this arrangement to my home e-mail which they had, and that they would telephone us on the monday to confirm that they had arranged the delivery, However the plus is that the young man I dealt with was polite and took responsibility for the error and apologised. I was then contacted by their customer services manager and he was excellent and ensured that the delivery was confrimed , e-mail sent and then he rang to check on the driver and the delivery, he also agreed to take the old fridge away free of charge. the driver rang as requested and arrived promptly and was extremely helpful and patient, took away the old fridge and we are very pleased with the fridge and the service despite the initial problems.
