I had an urgent parcel for delivery to USA by Friday 25 January 2013. I managed to get the parcel booked in for a collection between 1500 and 1830 with FEDEX. FEDEX called at 1700 to say the driver had had to leave with sickness and no-one would collect the parcel. I told them this had to be in USA for Friday and they said it would not get there anyway. I tried to call Interparcel who had gone home for the evening and ultimately resorted to their chat service. They told me I had no grounds for compensation or refund even though the contracted delivery date on their web was 25th January. FEDEX sent a courier to collect I refused to hand over the package as FEDEX said that no collection meant the contract was not complete and a refund had to take place.
