I have always self built before but decided, after a review in PC Format, to buy a ready assembled and overvlocked unit.. It arrived well packed, this was good as there was damage to the box but not the unit. I was impressed with the assembly and it worked straight away. The problems started when I ran benchmarks on it; they all showed far poorer results than I expected. Allowing for the possibility that I was at fault I contacted customer support for help. The reples were of little help. It was agreed that I should have had higher benchmark scores and they suggest I do a Prime95 test with CPU-Z running to confirm the overclock. This I did and at no time was an overclock indicated. I was eventually directed to my account to check on the units setting, this I did and they were confirmed. I am sure that I should be able to confirm the overclock, as I would presume PCSpecialist did on test, but I cannot and support appear unable to help me do so. A pity, I expected so much after the glowing reviews. So I have a machine that works adiquately with a fast start up due to the SSD but otherwise is not much better than than my old one.
It maybe that the unit is overclocked as stated but performance does support this. I would be happy if I could confirm the overclock but support has been unable to come up with any way to do this. Next time I self build again and overclock it myself.
