I debated for days about whether to stay safe and use my UK bank to transfer my money abroad but the difference in cost was substantial. I had some initial questions while setting up the account. Customer service weren't available by phone at that time but I received a really prompt response via e-mail which ACTUALLY ANSWERED THE QUESTION I HAD ASKED!! (In my experience this almost never happens - people always answer the question they assumed you were going to ask.) The transfer itself was quick and I received meaningful e-mail updates at each stage of the transaction. the exch. rate was excellent. I still find using a third party to move money a bit scary but would definitely use Transferwise again.
