I did some research to select the model of new cooker that I wanted and then found that Fires Cookers were amongst the companies offering the product at the lowest price. I then did researched reviews of Fires Cookers and, with a few exceptions, was reasonably content with these reviews. So I felt reasonably confident about purchasing an item that was in stock and available for delivery within a week or so. More or less as soon as I had placed the order, the funds were taken from my credit card. However, I was told the following day that the item was not in stock (despite indications to the contrary on the website) and two weeks later I have still not been given any news about delivery. I feel strongly that my money should not have been taken until there was a prospect of delivery and i also feel very misled by the Fires Cookers website.
Following this review, I was encouraged that Fires Cookers contacted me personally to apologise and in fact offered me compensation without me asking which I was impressed by. I have now received the reply below from Fires Cookers telling me that the appliance has been delivered. This is not the case. When I received the reply telling me I had received it, it was due to be delivered 3 days later so I didn't worry about it too much. Now, however, one day before the planned delivery, I have been contacted to be told that it will not be available for delivery until next week. Perhaps it would have been prudent to check that the product actually had been delivered before posting on-line saying it had. Also, the reply below from Fires Cookers tells me that the website did state that it was out of stock. All I remember it saying was that the product was available in "5-7 days" and giving me a delivery option within that time. I'm not sure how anyone would interpret that information to mean "out of stock"!
