Easy access to many flats, but watch the contracts!

The site was easy to use with lots of selection. The only detractor was their rent it now section - I used this to rent a flat for 9 people in Barcelona and was left with some confusion about whether I had paid or not and what the next steps were. House Trip did not send me a receipt for the payment, nor did the rental agency. I feel that in order to ensure customer confidence a receipt should have been sent to me via email, verifying my payment for the rental (I had to check my bank account to see it had gone through a couple of days later). Following this, which the rental agency in Barcelona was readily available via email and check in was easily arranged, there was a lack of communication regarding extras which were required for check in - such as the damage deposit and cleaning money. These items should be included as a reminder in the check in email as it may be several months between booking and actually going to the flat.
Other than a lack of paperwork, I can say that HouseTrip was easy to use and made my search for a flat much easier!
