Misleading delivery time information and terrible customer communication

Having searched the internet for the best value Canon Eos 600D, SLRHut offered the best deal, and even offered an express delivery - at a premium - for delivery within 2-3 days. As I was due to travel within a week, this seemed the best option, and a nice guy called John confirmed that I would receive the product in 3 days - he seemed great, and even convinced me to purchase an additional battery.

After 2 days, I was concerned that there had been no communication regarding the delivery, except a confirmation of my ordered, so I phoned john directly, and emailed customer services who claim on the website to get back to you within 24 hours. No answer from both.

After 3 working days, I'm genuinely concerned as I am travelling in 4 days time. I ring them, (there only seems to be 2 people if and when you can get through - John and Simon). Simon, rather amusingly, apparently works in customer services. I have never experienced a more hostile response to my query of where my camera was, and claimed that although I purchased the express delivery of 2-3 days, the order can take an additional 7 days to process!!!

On asking to cancel the order, he tried to prevent me by telling me that I won't find a cheaper camera online. This isn't the point - I purchased a camera with the expectation of a delivery of 2-3 days, and it was now apparent that they could not guarantee delivery of camera before my holiday. He then told me the money would be back in my account within 5 days, and hung up. This is not customer service by any stretch.

I have informed my bank as I am dubious, and will not be using them again. Decided to buy the camera directly from a shop as I am due to travel in 5 days.
