I cannot understand why Amazon would use this company as their first choice for return collections. They simply defeat Amazon's efforts to operate as customer-centric company with top-class customer service.
Yodel fail to turn up for collection, fail to deliver in time and fake their tracking records.
Piece of advice: when Amazon sends you return authorization with Yodel (or HDNL - they are the same company), just write back to them and ask for an alternative. It will save you a lot of time and frustration.
Yodel would not give any specific time for collection during the day - any time between 9:00 and 18:00 (obviously people do not have to go to work or have any other purpose of life except to wait for them)
When booking collection the Web site said that they will send e-mail confirmation. They did not.
Stayed pinned down whole day at home and they did not turn up.
Tried to book second collection bit it was rejected by their Web site because it claimed such booking existed.
Sent e-mail. Customer service replied that there was no booking with my reference number in their systems.
Sent details to book by e-mail. Replied that they did not accept bookings due to the weather conditions.
Asked Amazon for authorization to use Royal Mail for return. Took me 10 min to go to the local post office and sort it out.
Then suddenly somebody rings on the door and says they are from Yodel to collect a parcel ... ?!?!?
At the same time the Amazon sent replacement item with first class mail through Yodel. Several days later the parcel showed as loaded on the van for delivery and stayed at the same state for more than 5 days. Asked Amazon to trace what was happening, they "poked" Yodel, next day the packet was delivered.
Very bad experience which I do not want go through again.
