I ordered a phone from this company on the 18th September 2013. I was lured by how professional the website looked so I confidently placed my order. If only I had read the reviews on Trustpilot (not the obvious fake ones).
By the end of September no phone had arrived. All the excuses given to the many unhappy people who have reviewed on here have also been given to me. I have now requested a refund and guess what...I am now being given the same excuses again regarding ValueBaskets refund procedure that are being given to the many people reviewing ValueBasket on this site too.
I have kept every single communication record I have had with ValueBasket as I now feel it may require legal assistance in retrieving my money back.
Do yourselves a favour if you have money to spend and want to receive the goods you pay for.....DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM VALUEBASKET.COM.
ValueBasket contacted me offering me a refund via bank transfer. See below:
"Due to unforeseen issue with our payment provider, we can refund your order via bank transfer instead to avoid further delay. We’ll send you an indemnity document to sign off once we receive your bank details. This document will basically confirm that you agree not to pursue a chargeback on the order to protect ourselves from double refund (bank transfer + chargeback from card issuer)."
I asked ValueBasket to simply refund my money back to the card I paid them with and then received this reply from them, see below:
"We do not have a timeline unfortunately on when we can initiate refund via the actual payment processor used to take payment. Our business process improvement manager is in ongoing discussions with our payment partner to rectify the situation. Management has therefore extended the refund option towards bank transfer. Our apologies again for any inconvenience caused.
Kindly let us know if you will accept our offer for the bank transfer process."
This all sounds very suspicious to me. I have took legal advice and registered a complaint with my bank so they will now deal with this issue.

VB replied...see below
Thank you for contacting us.
As a consumer as well, we truly understand your frustration for the delay of the refund. Due to a bit of system issue we have encountered we was not able to refund the money on the time frame we have provided. However, we can assure you that we are now doing our very best to process the refund on the soonest time possible. Your request was already been placed on priority. We will make sure to notify you with any available update of the order.
For the meantime, your patience and understanding is truly appreciated.
