Everything i can buy on Amazon.co.uk is bought there, even though im living in spain delivery is still for free and always more reliable than any other online store i ordered from.
The only bad thing about Amazon is that they don't have everything (yet) so you have to use alternative shopping sites from time till time.
I booked a car for my girlfriend who was going to visit some family, i used rentalcars.com and found addcarrental that had the car that i was looking for at an acceptable rate. The booking is started and paid upfront and i recieve a confirmation with instructions to bring it to the arrival airport.
My girldfriend arrived with her 4 year old daughter pretty late, so this is one of the times where you just want the car to be there. It wasn't! The office is closed and the instructions say that someone will be waiting there at the specified time, no one was there. The phonenumber of the person that should supposedly be there was included, no answer. Its amazing as their bookingprocess involves telling them the actual planenumber which i did, and the plane was even a little bit ahead of schedule.
My girlfriend calls back to me because she is standing in a foreign country, i go to the company website and find a 24 h support telephone number, they are bragging that you can always get a hold of them, and then i spent the next two hours calling this number and all others listed without any success later. I had to tell my girlfriend to just give up and take a taxi to a nearby aquaintance where they will spend the night and they would have to sort out this car business tomorrow.
The day after she went back to the airport and got the car without any excuses or anything, and she was furthermore instructed she had to pay at the desk for the booked childseat which was in the car, however when she got to the car no child seat where there and she found an alternative solution instead of going back to agency for the 3rd time. When delivering the car back they were informed about payment for the missing child seat, however they still have taken the payment from credit card and here 2 weeks after returning the car they still have the excess deposition reserved.
I wouldn't recommend addcarrental.com to anyone even if they have competetive prices i would go to a company that doesn't leave you stranded in an airport after a long day of travelling with a child.
