Having both recently retired, and not being as healthy as we would like to be, we decided to look into equity release as a means of being able to fund the build of a utility room/conservatory and install a downstairs toilet . ( Steep stairs are fine when you are young and fit, not so much when you are older) Now, being on a smaller income we did not want to touch what little capital we have so equity release seemed an option. However we were a little retisant as we, possibly like most people did not have any knowledge of what this would mean to us personally. We had no need to worry as from the start key financial were extremely helpful and informative. Following our original enquiry we had the option of a home visit or we could attend a seminar at a local hotel, which we did. This proved to be extremelly infomative as we were shown all the available schemes which were explained in a simple easy to understand way. At the end of the Seminar there was the chance to ask questions or ask for clarification on anything, we then had the option of a home visit by the representative, (Mr, Les Garbutt) leaving any decision till a later date, or just walking away saying thank you very much but this is not for us. What was nice is that at no time either by phone, in the seminar or during the home visit were we pressured into making any decision. Mr. Garbutt came back to us with a printed report showing several companies and what they were offering so it was easy to see which company was offering us the best deal . We would have no hesitation in recomending Key Retirement Solutions for anyone considering equity release who wants independent advice.
