BMB Hatchbag

Great product for the Evoque...less so for the Freelander 2

Installed into the Evoque easily and was delighted. Had high expectations for the Freelander.
Much more complex to install with the Freelander 2. Instructions and photos were far less clear (especially for attaching under the boot floor) and I suspect I have not installed perfectly but the result is OK. Maybe think of a youtube demo on more complex installations?
Finally would be good to find a way to loose all the straggly ends which result from attaching round the headrest too...
I'd recommend based on the Evoque experience.

Hi Andrew

Thank you for the order for both vehicles and the review.

We manufacture for over 400 different vehicles and everyone is different. The Freelander was designed in 2006 and has what we class as a non-velcro friendly covering to the load area so we had to design a liner with a fitting kit that would work. It does take a little longer than the Evoque to fit, but if fitted correctly it should do the job for you - if you need help - give us a call.

The Evoque is the first of the NEW Model Landrovers that have velcro friendly load area coverings making fitting really easy.

The ends of the straps that go round the headrest posts can be tucked away behind the liner - or you can cut the tails off if you do not need them that long.

We have started using YouTube more and will be adding more videos soon - we have also just added a new section to the website that will show more reference photo's that will aid both vehicle identification, fitting and colour choice.

Good racking, don't bother with the crates. Watch the VAT and delivery on the price.

Racking is fine but two of the crates had cracked lids - very cheap plastic which probably won't stand intensive use. I did not need all of the crates so not an issue for me, just irksome.

Two of the racking struts were a bit twisted at the end (repairable with pliers). So if I were Big Dug I'd improve the packaging / freight as that's what seems to have caused the issue. Now installed and racking is great.

Finally the pricing comes from the Ryanair school of marketing - headline grabbing price BUT excludes VAT and a sizeable delivery cost (with more VAT on that) so the headline price is only 75% of what you actually pay. Ok value though (probably just as Ryanair is...)

Thank you Andrew for taking the time to write your review, we do take on board customers feedback as we continue to improve our products and services.

I’m sorry you feel that the delivery charges are high, we do review our prices on a regular basis.
Also no delivery charges are included in the price of the products themselves, which many company’s do.
There is a button at the top of our webpage so you can view the prices with or without the VAT and we do give a full summery of all the charges before payment in the checkout section.

We are always more than happy to replace any damaged items, I will send out two lids just in case you did need them.
We do have other units that have more heavy duty boxes so if you did want to look at exchanging any items please let us know and we can look into this.
I am sorry for any inconvenience caused.
